A Place of Risk

Philippians 3:7-11
Holman Christian Standard Bible

7 But everything that was a gain to me, I have considered to be a loss because of Christ. 8 More than that, I also consider everything to be a loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. Because of Him I have suffered the loss of all things and consider them filth, so that I may gain Christ 9 and be found in Him, not having a righteousness of my own from the law, but one that is through faith in Christ —the righteousness from God based on faith. 10 [My goal] is to know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, 11 assuming that I will somehow reach the resurrection from among the dead.

You are in a wonderful place, a place of risk. To be fully satisfied in your walk with Christ, you must be willing to risk everything. In order to gain, you must lose. You have to be willing to risk abandonment, your reputation, your car, house, job, family, friends, money, health...everything. But nothing compares to the reward of losing for the sake of Christ. I know that sounds strange. All your accomplishments, all your righteousness is as filth to God.

A place of risk is complete surrender to the will of God. It is a process and the process is not easy. It is a faith walk. In this walk you will suffer some loss. What's the reward? Eternal life is your reward. Your reward is to know Jesus intimately. You have to know Jesus in the fellowship of His suffering. He gave His life for you. You gain a more abundant life. Must Jesus bare the cross alone and the rest of us go free? No. Your life is hidden in Christ. There is no better place to be.

You are experiencing an extreme makeover. Jesus is the master of the makeover. He makes you beautiful and acceptable to the Father. Count it all joy, because you have put yourself in a place of risk, you will reign with Jesus in the end.

I know it's uncomfortable. There are times when you are not even sure this "baby" is still alive because there has been no movement. You are going through changes that you don't understand.

You don't have any strength left. You are tired of being pregnant. You have been down this road before. You get to the same place and stop. The decision is yours. You can abort the spiritual baby that you are carrying. Or,you can bring the baby forth. Pray for strength. Are you going to continue to get here and stop?

You are at the point of birth, PUSH! Pray until something happens. Praise until something happens. You were given the assignment for a reason. You were born for this. No one else can complete it. This assignment is yours. What God has given you to do, is for you to do. Take nothing for the journey. Stop trying to drag other people along. Wipe away the sweat and tears. Put the doubt out of your mind. Don't focus the fact that you haven't felt it kick in a while. That thing is not dead. If you think it's dead speak to it. The same power that raised Jesus from the dead also lives in you(Rom.8:11). Do whatever you have to do but, Finish The Assignment!

But All I Have Is...

1 Kings 17:8-16
New International Version

8 Then the word of the LORD came to him: 9 "Go at once to Zarephath of Sidon and stay there. I have commanded a widow in that place to supply you with food." 10 So he went to Zarephath. When he came to the town gate, a widow was there gathering sticks. He called to her and asked, "Would you bring me a little water in a jar so I may have a drink?" 11 As she was going to get it, he called, "And bring me, please, a piece of bread." 12 "As surely as the LORD your God lives," she replied, "I don't have any bread—only a handful of flour in a jar and a little oil in a jug. I am gathering a few sticks to take home and make a meal for myself and my son, that we may eat it—and die." 13 Elijah said to her,"Don't be afraid. Go home and do as you have said. But first make a small cake of bread for me from what you have and bring it to me, and then make something for yourself and your son. 14 For this is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: 'The jar of flour will not be used up and the jug of oil will not run dry until the day the LORD gives rain on the land.' " 15 She went away and did as Elijah had told her. So there was food every day for Elijah and for the woman and her family. 16 For the jar of flour was not used up and the jug of oil did not run dry, in keeping with the word of the LORD spoken by Elijah.

"But God, all I have is..." God told you what He requires of you. Yet,everyday you are faced with your limitations and inadequacies. God knows the beginning and the end. But here you are in the middle trying to understand how you are going to make it to the end. Let's examine Elijah and the widow. Elijah had to trust God for what he needed. God sent him to this widow. This widow did not have enough to sustain herself and her son, let alone Elijah.

God will require you to do what you cannot do in your own strength. The widow was prepared to make the "last supper" for herself and her son. Then, Jehovah Jireh steps on the scene. Elijah asked the woman for some food. Like you, she thought about the limitations. She did have adequate means to honor his request. Or so she thought. She said," all I have is this little bit of flour and a little bit of oil. But, she surrendered what little she had. In the middle of a drought...God gave her a life sustaining blessing.

"Give me what you have, I will turn little into much. Don't hold anything back from Me", says the Lord. In your dry place, give God what little you have. He will give you a life sustaining blessing.

Check Your Surroundings

Proverbs 27:17
New Life Version

17 Iron is made sharp with iron, and one man is made sharp by a friend.

Take inventory of your life. Are you drained? Do you feel like you are running on empty? Consider the company you keep. When you are going through you need people around to give you a push. You should have friends on many levels. You are supposed to have some people around you that you pull up higher. There should also be people around that you are responsible for pulling you up. There should be people around who are where you are. They run along side you and encourage you to stay in the race. Get around people that are not jealous of your anointing. Surround yourself with people who know who they are in God.

You are a person of destiny. You have ground to take for God. Lay aside dead weight. You don't owe it to anyone to stay around if they are pulling you down. God does not obligate you to hold yourself back to please people. Embrace the greatness that God has placed in you. Here's how you know who should go,(1) are they always negative?, (2) are they trying to grow strong in the Lord and the power of His Might? ,(3)do they recognize their own potential as well as yours?, (4) do they continuously betray you?, (5) are you usually drained when you leave them? (6) is every conversation about their drama? (7) do they ask how you are and really listen to the response?,(8) are they sensitive to you and pick up on your non-verbal cues?

Look for these people and keep them around. (1)Do they tell you the truth in love even when you don't want to hear it? ,(2) Do they encourage you to keep going when you are weary?, (3)Do they celebrate your accomplishments?,(4)Do they hurt when you hurt?,(5)are they sensitive to you and pick up on non-verbal cues?,(6) will them go to war with you?, (7)do you feel strengthened when you leave them?, (8) do they challenge and/or inspire you to be better?

Love the Lord. Love your friends, treat them well. Love yourself enough to free yourself from dead weight.

Pardon The Interruption

Micah 2: 13
Holman Christian Standard Bible

13 One who breaks open [the way]
will advance before them;
they will break out, pass through the gate,
and leave by it.
Their King will pass through before them,
the LORD as their leader.

Pardon the Interruption... An invasion is coming. You are about to experience a visitation of God like never before. The Breaker is here. Your God breaks through all hindrances and obstacles. God is about to turn your life upside down. Heaven is going to invade earth. Fresh Anointing...Breaker anointing is coming. It is the anointing is what destroys every yoke. God is the Breaker.

The Breaker is coming to invade your relationships, your ministries, your health, your finances, your jobs, your homes. Jesus invaded hell and death for your anointing. Jesus broke through victorious. God says, you are about to break out. You will pass through the gate. In other words, anything that has held you back is now destroyed!

If a person has held you back, get ready. That relationship is about to be destroyed. That person may not leave your life, but the way you were is shattered. If your health has held you back, get ready. That condition is destroyed. If financial issues have held you back, get ready. They are destroyed. If your supervisor at work has held you back, get ready. Whatever, has held you back... your attitude, your pride, your doubt, your discouragement, your weariness....IT IS DESTROYED IN THE NAME OF JESUS!
