Matthew 5:14
The Message
"Here's another way to put it: You're here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We're going public with this, as public as a city on a hill. If I make you light-bearers, you don't think I'm going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I'm putting you on a light stand. Now that I've put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand—shine! Keep open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you'll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven.
God says that your gifts, talents, ministry, business have been hidden long enough. Like a caterpillar you have been in a cocoon under the watchful eye of a loving God. He has put so much into you and you have allowed Him to take out the things that are not useful. I hear god saying suddenly, propel, and birth. Everything you have been through is not for you. It was for the up building of His kingdom, for His glory. Take what you have learned and share it. There is so much light in you. God is a skillful investor. He has invested a lot in you. Now it is time for a return on that investment. Be of good cheer, be encouraged and know that He has begun a great work in you. Give to others as liberally as He has given to you. It's time to step out and do what you have been prepared for.
